Joy Stories ("we", "us") runs joystories.co from 214, South First Cross Street, Kapaleeshwarar Nagar, Neelankarai, Chennai 600041, India. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. For any question about your data, write to edward@joystories.co.
What we collect
- Contact form: your name, work email, company, team size, what you're interested in and your message.
- The Joy Letter: your email address, the date you signed up and where on the site you signed up.
- The Joy Calendar download: your email address, so we can send you the PDF. Downloading it also signs you up to the Joy Letter.
- WhatsApp, email and phone: whatever you choose to share when you message or call us.
- Technical data: like every website, our host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser and pages visited) for security. Our forms also use a scrambled form of your IP address for a short time to stop spam sign-ups.
We don't ask for sensitive details, and we never take payments on this website.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and plan your programme or event.
- To send the Joy Letter (one short email a month) and the Joy Calendar you asked for.
- To keep the website secure, free of spam, and useful.
We use your details only for the reasons you gave them to us. We never sell, rent or trade them.
Who else handles it
We share your details only with the services that help us run the website and send emails:
- Hostinger hosts this website and our email.
- Brevo sends the Joy Letter and our website emails, and stores the mailing list.
- Google Fonts serves the fonts on this site, so your browser connects to Google when a page loads.
- WhatsApp (Meta) carries any messages you send us there.
Some of these providers may store data outside India. We pick providers that protect it well.
Cookies and storage
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The site also saves a few small notes in your own browser, for example that you've already seen the Joy Letter pop-up, plus a friendly offline page. These stay on your device.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries while we're talking or working together, and for up to three years after that for our records. We keep your Joy Letter email until you unsubscribe.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the Joy Letter anytime, using the link in any email.
- Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.
- Withdraw your consent at any time.
Email edward@joystories.co and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
